After calls from the relatives of a Port Mourant man, who went missing last month, the body suspected to be his was exhumed on November 27, and an autopsy was done.
However, Commander of B Division, Lyndon Alves yesterday told Stabroek News, that the results of the autopsy were inconclusive.
Reginald Ramswamey, 46, a cane harvester of Ankerville, Port Mourant, went missing on October 6, relatives say. On October 8, a partially-decomposed body, suspected to be Ramswamey’s was discovered next to the Port Mourant Primary School.
The body was that of a man of East Indian descent and was clad in blue pants, which relatives said Ramswamey was wearing before he went missing.
The body was buried on October 15 after no identification was done.
Annie Ramswamey, the sister of the missing man, had told Stabroek News that the circumstances surrounding her brother’s disappearance seemed “fishy” and as a result she wanted the authorities to exhume the body in order for a post-mortem examination to be conducted.
