Defending champions St. Angela’s and South Ruimveldt will face-off in the final of the Smalta Girls U11 Football tournament following semi-final wins yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
St. Angela’s crushed St. Pius 4-1. Nikasie St. Jules recorded a helmet-trick in the third, 19th, 28th and 30th minute. On target in the loss was Kesia Wilson in the 19th minute.
Meanwhile, South Ruimveldt edged West Ruimveldt 1-0 compliments of a Fayon Harvey strike in the 26th minute.
In the earlier quarterfinal round, St. Angela’s swamped Tucville 5-0. Nikasi St. Jules bagged a double in the first and 30th minute while Patricia Rollox, Akeela McKenzie and Shikaria Lupe scored in the fifth, sixth and 22nd minute respectively.
Also, South Ruimveldt defeated North Georgetown 2-1 on penalty kicks, after regulation time ended 1-1.
Kci Pollard netted in the 24th minute for South Ruimveldt, while Jadea Maison equalised for North Georgetown in the 26th minute.
Similarly, St. Pius edged F.E. Pollard 2-1. Kerry Boyce and Kezra Wilson scored in the fifth and 30th minute respectively for the winner.
For the loser, Tallia Wharton netted in the 12th minute. Meanwhile, West Ruimveldt humbled Redeemer 3-0. Akila Smith, Celica Williams and Ashayla Pedro scored in the 15th, 23rd and 30th minute respectively.
In the 5-8 position playoffs, North Georgetown crushed Redeemer 3-0. Ameza English, Jadea Maison and Motha Chance scored in the 11th, 16th and 17th minute each.
Also, Tucville defeated F.E. Pollard 1-0 on penalty kicks, after the match ended scoreless.
