Victory Valley Royals and Colts secured easy wins when the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) ‘Road to Mecca’ Club Championship continued Friday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue.
Colts defeated Amelia’s Ward Jets 65-50. Stanton Rose was the main threat for the defending champions with 19 points and four assists while Shane Webster added 14 points and 15 rebounds.
Veteran guard Dave Causeway tallied nine points, seven steals and four assists while Dennis Niles chipped in with seven points.
For the losing team, Adrian Webster recorded 13 points and 14 rebounds, while sibling Joel Webster tallied 11 points and six rebounds. Shannon Cadogan and Marlon Persaud added nine and seven points respectively.
Meanwhile, Royals downed Retrieve Raiders 67-58. Harold Adams led the way with 18 points, seven rebounds, two blocks and as many steals.
Orlan Glasgow added 13 points, six steals and five rebounds while Trevor Profitt and Yannick Tappin supported with 10 and eight points respectively.
For Raiders, Neil Marks shot his way to 21 points while Delon Montrose added 11 points and seven rebounds, Keon Cameron scored 11 points and Jason Alonzo netted eight points.
The tournament, which is sponsored by Banks DIH Limited under the Coca-Cola and Powerade brands, will continue today at the same venue.
