The case against the former police Cadet Officer, Franz Paul, who is accused of shooting a 15-year-old in the mouth in 2014, was on Friday adjourned until next year, as the defence attorney failed to provide his last witness.
It is alleged that Paul, of Lot 189 Freeman Street, East La Penitence, shot Griffith in his mouth on April 30, 2014, at Georgetown. He was charged with the incident two months after.
When the case was called up at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, Paul’s attorney, Roger Yearwood, explained to Magistrate Fabayo Azore that he was unable to have the final witness return to court, since the summons that was prepared had not been delivered by the court.
Magistrate Azore stated that since she allowed the prosecution “a lot of leeway”, the same can be allowed to the defence.
She then subsequently adjourned the matter to January 12, 2018, at 9:30 am.
