We wish to respond to an article in SN captioned ‘Salesman robbed of $1M cash outside Demerara Park’ published on December 13th, 2017.
The article reported that a salesman was robbed of $1 million in cash on Saturday night, when he was attacked by two bandits while about to hand over the day’s sale to his employer outside of Demerara Park, East Bank Demerara.
Please be advised that no such incident occurred at Demerara Park on Saturday night and no employee of Banks DIH Limited was reportedly robbed.
Santa’s Enchanted Village was being hosted at Demerara Park at the time that you reported the incident occurred. There were adequate security personnel including members of the Guyana Police Force both inside and outside of the venue and there were no reports of a robbery committed in close proximity.
We do hope that this will clear the air on the incident.
