Defending champion Colts and Linden unit Victory Valley Royals, clinched contrasting wins, when the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) ‘Road to Mecca’ Club Championship, continued on Wednesday.
Colts crushed Rose Hall Town Jammers 105-52, at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue. Dave Causway recorded the brilliant figures of 30 points, nine assists, five rebounds and four steals in the rout.
He was supported by Shelroy Thomas, who tallied 19 points, eight rebounds, Shane Webster who registered 16 points, five rebounds and Quacy Lindo with 12 points, eight rebounds.
Chipping in with eight points was Dane Kendall, while Stanton Rose added seven points, six rebounds and five assists.
For the loser, Mickel Lewis battled to 16 points, eight rebounds, while Kevin Emanuel, Michael King and Kwesi Mickle supported with 10, 10 and seven points, respectively.
Meanwhile, Royals overcame former champion Pacesetters 87-75. Orlan Glasgow led the way with figures of 23 points, 13 rebounds, and three steals.
Harold Adams provided perfect support with a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds, along with two steals, while Yannick Tappin and Chris Williams chipped in with 12 and 10 points apiece.
For the Georgetown unit, Joslyn Crawford notched 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Randy Richardson was the next best scored with 13 points.
Adding 10, seven and seven points were Stephon Gillis, Nathan Saul and Rayon Cummings, respectively.
The event resumes next Friday, December 22 at the same venue.
