An American national was yesterday robbed at gunpoint on Thomas Street just around noon yesterday of her cellular phones and cash.
Police said that Audrey Ryan, 54, Vice Chairman of VXL Enterprise located in Kingston was about to enter Eureka Labs on Thomas Street when the lone gunman approached her, pointed the weapon in her direction and snatched her hand bag.
According to the police, Ryan’s hand bag was snatched from her shoulder by a man who was driving motor car HC 6238. After committing the act, the man returned to the parked car and drove away making a good escape.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that Ryan had visited Demerara Bank to make a deposit before visiting the laboratory.
Ryan told the police that the handbag contained three cellular phones valued at $236,000, a hard drive worth $16,000, $30,000 cash, her American passport and her driver’s licence.
Police investigations are ongoing and no one has been arrested.
