Agriculture Minister Noel Holder yesterday rejected an allegation in email correspondence which stated that the wife of a staff member was sexually assaulted at his ministry by an official.
The allegation was contained in a letter purported to be written by an Arnold Sanasie and widely circulated.
After becoming aware of the allegation, Holder, at an emergency press conference, denied having any knowledge about the incident.
He went on to say that no report of a sexual assault was brought to his attention.
“As far as the incident reported, I cannot see it involving this ministry. I did not see any reports either from the administrator or from the security that any incident of this nature occurred within this compound,” the minister stated.
Commander of ‘A’ Division, Marlon Chapman when contacted yesterday said police had not received a report of such an incident.
Meanwhile, Director of Public Com-munications Imran Khan stated that he has contacted an Arnold Sanasie, who denied having any knowledge of the letter.
