NK Ballers and Hard-Knocks will face-off in the final of the New Era Entertainment/Mohamed Enterprise Futsal Championship tomorrow, following semi-final wins on Saturday.
Staged at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) hard-court, Linden in front of a large crowd, NK Ballers overcame fierce rival Silver Bullets in a marathon battle via a 15-13 scoreline.
The star-studded NK Ballers outfit, which featured Travis Best between the uprights, was led by a five-goal blitz from captain and experienced forward Rawle Gittens.
The next best scorer with a hat-trick was Devon George, while Keon Sears, Kenard Simon and Jermaine Grandison scored two goals apiece. Adding a solitary strike to the score sheet was Joel McKinnon.
On the other side, Omar Williams recorded a helmet-trick, while sibling Damion Williams tallied a hat-trick.
Robin Adams and Jamaine Samuels also got into the scoring act with two conversions individually, while Kieron Cameron and Clifton Alley netted one goal respectively.
Meanwhile their opponent, Hard-Knocks downed Spaniards 6-3. Dexroy Adams recorded four goals in the rout, while Trenton Lashley and Clive Nobrega netted one goal apiece.
For the Spaniards, David Chinda bagged a double, while Curtez Kellman netted once. The two losing semi-finalists will lock horns in the third place playoff prior to the finale.
Winner of the event will pocket $500,000 and the championship trophy, while the runner-up will collect $150,000 and a trophy. The third place side receives $50,000, while fourth place walks away with a trophy.
