A mechanic was yesterday morning shot under unknown circumstances while cleaning his drain at West Ruimveldt, Georgetown.
Injured is Andrew Rodney, 36, of West Ruimveldt, Georgetown. He sustained a gunshot wound to his left thigh and is currently a patient at the Woodlands Hospital.
The bullet is suspected to be still lodged in Rodney’s leg.
Rodney, the police said, was cleaning a drain located west of his premises around 6.30 am yesterday, when he heard a loud explosion followed by a burning to his thigh.
Upon examining, he saw a hole in the inner side of his thigh which was bleeding profusely. As a result, he stopped a car and went to the hospital.
According to the police, Rodney cannot say how or who shot him since he said there was no one around when he was shot
Investigations are ongoing.
