A North Ruimveldt man was yesterday placed on $200,000 bail for a ganja trafficking charge.
It is alleged that Andre Gravesande on December 25th at Kingston Seawall had in his possession 89.9 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
Gravesande was represented by attorney Tiffany Jeffrey who stated that on the day in question, her client was on the seawall with his 11-year-old brother when the police picked them up.
The Prosecutor’s facts stated that Gravesande had a black plastic bag in his hand. The bag was opened in his presence and leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis were found. The prosecutor made no objections to bail provided that accused reports to the CID office, Brickdam.
Chief Magistrate Ann McLennnan placed Gravesande on $200,000 bail on the condition that he report to the officer in charge at the CID office, Brickdam every Friday until his trial is completed. The matter was adjourned to January 15th.
