As Hindus across the world observed Maha Shiva Raatri yesterday, hundreds of devotees attended the Cove and John Ashram for worship.
Among the special invitees were President David Granger, Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo, his wife Sita Nagamootoo and officials from
the Indian High Commission.
Maha Shiva Raatri translates to night of Shiva (one of Hinduism’s five major forms of god) and was observed at the Ashram throughout yesterday from 6 am.
Prayers were chanted and the devotees were also fed with a variety of sweetmeats and seven curries.
