Guyana’s most exciting bantamweight fighter, the entertaining Elton ‘The Bully’ Dharry (21-5-1) will return to action tomorrow night on the undercard of the ‘Bad Blood’ card billed for the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
The US-based power puncher will face Venezuelan, Jesus Garcia (16-10-1) in an eight-round showdown.
“Training for January 20 has been excellent,” said Dharry yesterday. “I feel in great condition. My opponent has some solid wins against some good fighters and brings lots of experience into the ring, but I will be ready for everything.”
Dharry who turned 32 last month, is on an 18-fight winning streak and is looking forward to a big 2018.
“My goal is to make a big jump in my career this year. I want to be set on my path to the title. My style is to please the fans and I want to show them exciting knockouts against the best contenders.
He added “I would like to stay active and fight as much as possible in 2018. Give me the so called “killers” in the division”. ‘The Bully’ is also looking forward to seeing the strong Dharry Army who always show up to lend their support.
Presented by the Guyana Boxing Board of Control and NexGen Global Marketing, the flashy Dexter ‘De Kid’ Marques versus Garcia’s countryman, Dionis ‘El Flaco’ Martinez Arias will serve as the headliner of the six-fight card which starts at 20:00hrs.
Elsewhere on the bill, Shawn Corbin boxes highly ranked Trinidadian, Sheldon Lawrence for the WBC FECARBOX light heavyweight title in the main supporting bout.
Anson Green will take on Barbadian, Keithland King while the night’s action is set to start with debutant, James Moore fighting another Barba-dian, Anderson Emmanuel over four rounds in the heavyweight division.
Tickets cost $1000 for stands, $2000 for ringside and $4000 for VIP.
