Texas Sage commonly called Texas Ranger or Barometer Plant originated in Texas, the southwest of the USA, and Mexico, where the temperatures are warm and conditions dry.
Texas Sage has small, soft, silver to grey foliage with purple to lavender flowers.
This easy-to-grow shrub can go as high as 3 ft to 5 ft in height, depending on the variety, but it can be trimmed to your required height.
Texas Sage grows in well-drained soil in full sun and blooms profusely from spring to summer. Sometimes people mix-up this plant with Silver Dollar, by calling it a Mini Silver Dollar.
It has adapted well to Guyana and the Caribbean where it blooms year-round with a short rest period. Mine is doing fine and bloomed throughout Christmas into the New Year.
It is an outstanding South Florida landscape plant.
