The government will tomorrow empanel a Commission of Inquiry into the June 2008 massacre of eight men at Lindo Creek.
It is the first of what the government had yesterday said would be a series of inquiries into the crime spree years.
The victims were Dax Arokium, his uncle Cedric Arokium and workers: Compton Speirs, Horace Drakes, Clifton Wong, Lancelot Lee, Bonny Harry and Nigel Torres. The eight men were mining for diamonds at the location when they met their gruesome deaths sometime between June 9 and June 10.
That year also saw two other massacres. The Lusignan massacre in January that year and the Bartica massacre in February that year.
The swearing in of the commissioners will be held tomorrow at the Ministry of the Presidency.
