Police in the North West District have detained a suspect in connection with the murder of a miner nearly 18 months ago at Perseverance Backdam, North West District, Region One.
Stabroek News understands that Allen Fredericks, 30, a miner from Golden City, Baramita Village, North West District, was taken into police custody on Monday for the September 8th, 2016 murder of Orville Williams.
Reports indicate that a party of police officers went to Big Creek Backdam, North West District and arrested Fredericks before subsequently escorting him to the Port Kaituma Police Station, where he was being questioned up to Monday evening.
