Miner charged over North West killing

A man was yesterday remanded to prison after he was charged with the murder of a miner, which was committed nearly 18 months ago, at Perseverance Backdam, North West District, Region One.

Allen Fredericks, 30, a miner from Golden City, Baramita Village, North West District, was read the murder charge by Magistrate Judy Latchman.

The charge alleged that on September 8th, 2016, at Perseverance Backdam, he murdered Orville Williams.

Fredericks was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge.

He was then remanded to prison by Magistrate Latchman. He is expected to make his next court appearance on February 7th before the Chief Magistrate.
