The National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue will come alive tonight, when the inaugural Magnum Mash Futsal Championship commences with 12 group matches.
In the opening fixture, MBK All-Stars oppose Broad Street at 19:00hrs, while Sophia engage Team Extreme from 19:20hrs and Channel-9 Warriors battle Ansa McAl All-Stars at 19:40hrs.
The fourth fixture pits, Bent Street against YMCA All-Stars from 20:00hrs, while Silver Bullets tackle Kingston at 20:20hrs, and North Ruimveldt faceoff with Showstoppers from 20:40hrs.
In the seventh matchup, Hustlers oppose Tiger Bay from 21:00hrs, while New Market Street match skills with Ol Skool Ballers at 21:20hrs, and Gold is Money battles the Rugby Team from 21:40hrs.
The final three matches will pit Albouystown-A against Swag Entertainment from 22:00hrs, while California Square battles NK Ballers from 22:20hrs and Sparta Boss tackles Buxton Diamond at 22:40hrs.
The eight day event which concludes on February 18th at the same venue, features 32 teams battling for over $800,000 in cash and prizes in an initial group format.
Upon the conclusion of the group stage, the top two teams from each of the eight groups (four teams per group), advances to the knockout round
Group-A features Sparta Boss, Silver Bullets, Buxton Diamond and Kingston, while group-B comprises Leopold Street, California Square, NK Ballers and Mocha.
Group-C consists of North East La Penitence, Hustlers, Tiger Bay and Alexander Village, while group-D is made up of Gold is Money, Ol Skool Ballers, New Market Street and the Rugby Team.
On the other hand, Group-E comprise of Back Circle, Broad Street, Albouystown-B and MBK All-Stars, while North Ruimveldt, Sophia, Showstoppers and Team Extreme highlight group-F.
Group-G features Bent Street, Albouystown-A, Swag Entertainment and YMCA All-Stars and Group-H comprises Future Stars, Channel-9 Warriors, Ansa McAl All-Stars and Champion Boys.
Winner of the event will pocket $400,000 and the championship trophy, while the runner-up receives $200,000 and the corresponding accolade.
On the other hand, the third and fourth placed finishers will walk-away with $100,000 and $50,000 apiece, and the respective trophy. Confirmation of the respective groups and the fixtures will be announced shortly.
