Wales FC mauled ‘Combined Team’ [featuring players from Uitvlugt and Crane FC], 7-1, when the West Demerara leg of the Frank Watson Memorial National U15 Football League, commenced yesterday.
Staged at the Wales Community ground, Treve Connell registered a second half hat-trick in the 55th, 65th and 68th minute, while Celbert Baptiste bagged a brace in the 19th and 28th minute.
Chipping in with goals in the 38th and 45th minute respectively were Akeem Douglas and Isaac Simpson. For the loser, Arvin Pollard scored in the 50th minute.
On the other hand, Den Amstel and Eagles battled to a 1-1 draw. Matthew Debarias scored in the 16th minute for Den Amstel, while Romel Medas leveled proceedings 10 minutes onward.
Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Boss Wayne Forde officially opened the West Demerara leg of the event. Meanwhile in the East Bank Demerara section, Friendship crushed Soesdyke 4-1.
Marlon Dey bagged a double in the 11th and 64th minute, while Alvin Harrilall and Jaime France netted in the 49th and 68th minute each. For the loser, Tyrone Burnette netted in the 20th minute.
Similarly, Herstelling downed Swan FC 3-1. Sheron James recorded a hat-trick in the 31st, 46th and 58th minute. On target in the loss was Mark Loncke in the 61stminute.
Also, Kuru-Kururu edged Timehri Panthers 1-0 compliments of a Kevin Scott strike in the 51st minute. Meanwhile, Samatta Point/Kaneville and Grove Hi-Tech battled to a 1-1 result.
Ray Richards gave Samatta Point/Kaneville the lead in the 28th minute, while Devon Padmore equalised in the 60th minute. The event continues in the East Bank Demerara section today at the same venue with another round of matches.
