Stanleytown chef gets bail on fraud charges

A Stanleytown chef was on Friday placed on a total of $210,000 bail after denying three fraud charges.

It is alleged that Godwyn Curry, 46, during the month of November, 2017, at West Ruimveldt, with intent to defraud, obtained $200,000 from Totaram Doodnauth.

The second charge states that during December, 2017 at West Ruimveldt, with intent to defraud, Curry obtained the sum of $75,000 from Anetta Abrams.

The last charge alleges that Curry during November, 2017 at West Ruimveldt, with intent to defraud, obtained $220,000.

The prosecutor made no objections to bail.

Magistrate Leron Daly then granted Curry his release on bail and adjourned the matters until March 9th.
