Sparta Boss, Future Stars, Team Extreme Hustlers, Bent Street and California Square recorded contrasting wins when the inaugural Magnum Mash Futsal Championship, continued on Thursday at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
Sparta Boss battled past Kingston 3-2. Jermin Junior registered a double in the third and 20th minute, while Gregory Richardson netted in the 13th minute.
For the loser, Simon Emmanuel netted in the 12th and 17th minute. Future Stars downed Ansa McAl All-Stars 2-0. Akeemo Anthony and Jamal Cozier in the second and 14th minute apiece.
Team Extreme overcame North Ruimveldt via an identical score. Eon Alleyne and Carl Griffith netted in the 11th and 16th minute each.
Meanwhile, Hustlers mauled North East La Penitence 4-0. Kwame Holder tallied a helmet-trick in the second, fourth, fifth and 11th minute.
Similarly, California crushed Leopold Street 4-1. David George led the rout with goals in the fourth and ninth minute.
Adding goals in the sixth and 17th minute respectively were Meshach Barratt and Nedd Fraser. For Leopold Street, Samuel Hunte scored in the 19th minute.
Also, Bent Street dismissed Albouystown-A 3-1. Sheldon Profit, Daniel Wilson and Travis Lyken scored in the 12th, 16th and 17th minute each. Mark Hart netted for Albouystown-A in the seventh minute.
In other results, Ol Skool Ballers humbled Rugby Team 3-0, while Albouystown-B downed MBK All-Stars 3-1.
Silver Bullets needled Buxton Diamond 1-0, while Alexander Village edged Tiger Bay by an identical score line. On the other hand, Gold is Money was held to a 3-3 by New Market Street. Similarly, YMCA All-Stars and Swag Entertainment battled to a 1-1 draw.
NK Ballers squeaked past Mocha 3-2, whilst Channel-9 Warriors and Back Circle defeated Champion Boys and Broad Street respectively via walkover.
The tournament continues today at the same venue with the final round of group matches. Below features the complete list of scheduled fixtures.
Winner of the event will pocket $400,000 and the championship trophy, while the runner-up receives $200,000 and the corresponding accolade.
On the other hand, the third and fourth placed finishers will walk-away with $100,000 and $50,000 apiece, and the respective trophy.
