Former National Ladies champion Ashley Khalil began her participation in Bounty Farm Ltd. Handicap Squash Tournament by downing Javid Rahaman last evening at the Georgetown Club squash courts on Camp Street.
Khalil (-2), who did not land a spot on the national team for the Commonwealth Games in Australia, looked sharp during her 15-7 first set win over Rahaman, and backed it up by taking the second and the match, by a similar score line.
Meanwhile, Nyron Joseph, who was also on show last evening, opened his account with a win. Joseph, playing with a -22, fought hard for the 15-9, 15-14 win over Bryan Young.
