A young police constable was yesterday charged with raping a colleague at a city hotel.
Dillon Crandon, 18, of Berbice, is alleged to have committed the crime on February 10th, 2018.
Crandon was granted $150,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, who adjourned the proceedings until February 26th.
According to a police statement, the two ranks, who are friends, booked a hotel after a night out last Saturday. The victim, the police said, alleged that while there, the suspect had sexual intercourse with her against her will.
