(Trinidad Express) A GUAYAGUAYARE watchman was shot while headed to his workplace last night.
Mark Christopher, 36, of Newlands, was pronounced dead at hospital.
Christopher was walking north along Guayaguayare Road in company with a female security officer.
She left and went home and Christopher continued walking towards the north entrance of his workplace at La Savanne Circular.
Police said Christopher’s killer ambushed him, and shot him at close range.
The killer ran off.
Residents found Christopher bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds and took him to the Mayaro District Health Facility.
Insp Williams, Sgt Harper and others of the Mayaro CID and Eastern Division Task Force responded.
Police retrieved five spent shells from the scene.
An autopsy is to be done today at the Forensic Sciences Centre.
Police are yet to ascertain the motive for the killing.

The killing took the homicide toll for the year to 87 according to an Express tally.
