PhotosEighty-one-year-old celebrating 46 years as invigilatorBy Dhanash Ramroop February 27, 2018 Eighty-one-year-old Sarifari Persaud, a supervisor at Enmore Primary will be celebrating her 46th year as an invigilator, a release from Region Four said yesterday. The elderly woman began invigilating in 1972 what was then called the Common Entrance Examinations. Over the years, the release said that Persaud has been a fixture at the exams. She said that she enjoys invigilating as it has and continues to give her a great sense of joy and pride. Meanwhile, Regional Education Officer, Tiffany Favourite-Harvey and Education Officer attached to Region Four, Stembiso Grant hailed the performance and years of service provided by Persaud. The release said that they lauded her contributions in ensuring that the quality and integrity of the exams remained unchallenged over the years. Stabroek News was told that the driver was speeding west along the East Coast Highway going around the turn at Enmore when he lost control and slammed into the pole. No one was seriously injured.
