Glennis Stephens smashed nine sixes in an unbeaten knock of 66 to lead Brickdam Secondary to victory over School of the Nations as the Forbes Burnham Foundation Secondary Schools Windball cricket championships continued Tuesday at the National Gymnasium.
Brickdam batted first and posted 120-1 with Nyanckye Duggen adding 30.
In reply, School of the Nations stumbled to 78 -2 from their allotted six overs. Delicia Millington (34) and Boya Khan (18) were the only two batters to get in among the runs.
School of the Nations and St. Barnabas School played to a tie in a game the former should have won.
School of the Nations, batting first, scored 85-3 with Xoya Khan (20) and Analicia Boyle (16) the main scorers.
In reply, St Barnabas equaled the score due to Shaffena Basheir’s blazing half century and Naomi Joseph’s 22.
Meanwhile, East Ruimveldt Secondary eased to victory over the Bishops’ High School. Bishops’ being invited to bat posted 86-1 with Vashti Indergeet and Kureece King contributing 30 runs each.
In reply, Yosonda Hoppie’s 48 steered East Ruimveldt to victory with a six out of the Gymnasium sealing the deal.
Christ Church Second-ary made light work of Queenstown Secondary who posted 73 with Charmaine Warrick top scoring with 29. In reply, Christ Church were led by Leteziah Grant’s 30 and Shutel Isaacs’ 26 as they reached the target.
