President of the Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) Godfrey Munroe says he is contemplating running for a third term when the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held later this month.
GTTA via a release, indicated that their AGM will be held March 24, 2018, from 13:00hrs at the Guyana Olympic Association Building Block XXX Liliendaal, East Coast Demerara.
The announcement read, “Notice of motions must reach the Hon. General Secretary no later than Monday 19th March 2008.
“Each club registered with the Association is entitled to send as many delegates as may desire. However, only one authorized member will be allowed to vote.
“Clubs are reminded to ensure that their annual subscriptions have been paid by the 16th March 2018 to be able to exercise their franchise.”
Munroe, who has been at the helm of the association for the last four years, indicated to Stabroek Sport that he is willing to continue his quest to develop the sport if the electorate trusts his vision to do so.
“If the electorate so decides that they trust me to take the sports forward, I would be willing to continue serving,” the former two-time national table tennis men’s singles champion said.
“Development requires a unified approach,” he underscored while adding: “I would love to have the support of others. However, I genuinely believe that we are building a platform and have some real key pillars.”
“I’m not sure of any others who would be willing to serve or have expressed an interest to this point; motions nominations can be made. Persons requiring to serve must have the commitment to serve in a genuine way with integrity and character,” he declared
