As teams prepare for the 2018 National Race of Champions, Team Tucker has garnered sponsorship from Choke Gas Station which will assist in super biker, Raverio Tucker’s effort to claim the title this year.
At a simple handing over ceremony at the gas station at La Bonnie Intention (LBI), East Coast Demerara on Wednesday, Tucker related that he is proud to be representing the sponsors when he takes to the track, while acknowledging that without them, it would not be possible.
“I’d really like to extend great gratitude to the management and staff of Choke Gas Station for their genuine support of Team Tucker in the upcoming National Race of Champions. Without them, this wouldn’t have been possible for me, as everyone knows, motor racing is expensive. So, once again, thank you to Choke Gas Station.” Tucker said.
According to Tucker, this yearthe team is expected to produce a better performance since they know what the bike is capable of, indicating that last year “was a year of testing.”
The 22 year old noted that through this sponsorship, the team will be taking to the asphalt on Dunlop racing slick tires, compliments of Choke Gas Station. After the team had experimented with the tyres in the last race of 2017, he enjoyed much success, as he finished overall runner up.
The speedster related that it is in his plans for this year to make the trip to Jamaica, where he intends to compete in the first leg of the Caribbean Championships in May.
At the final race meet in November, 2017, Tucker secured four podium finishes, two seconds and two thirds, including his most memorable moment on the track.
“Well the biggest highlight I’d say for me to this date, is in last November in the last race of the day, we made a few adjustments to the suspension after running terrible [in the] first two races. The bike felt so good in the warm up laps and then when the race started I got a perfect launch and went straight to the front after starting at the back, from there I held the third position throughout the race and also clocked my personal best lap time of 36.5sec in that race,” Tucker said.
