Ogle defeated Better Hope while Paradise brushed aside Golden Achivers to advance to the semifinals of the Enmore Community Centre Cricket Club/ D&E Tent Rental 10/10 tournament last Sunday.
In the first quarter-final showdown between Ogle and Better Hope, Ogle took first strike and posted 85 for 5 in their allotted overs. Andre Gomes top scored with an unbeaten 34, while Khemraj Dindyal chipped in with 25.
In reply, Better Hope fell 13 runs short, as they were unable to find two more batsmen at the fall of the seventh wicket, at the end of nine overs.
Meanwhile, A. Samad, 25 not out, helped Golden Achievers reach 74 for 6 from their 10 overs, with Akeem Andrews picking up 2-16. Although the small total proved to be troublesome for the Paradise batsmen, they eventually pulled off a last ball victory, due mainly to Garfield Douglas, who stroked an unbeaten 44.
The other quarter-final games are scheduled for this Sunday at Enmore Community Centre, with Enmore facing Lusignan in game one at 10:30hrs, and Enterprise doing battle against LBI in the second game at 14:00hrs.
