Pure Masters, Morgan Learning Centre and Buxton Youth Developers, sealed their respective berths to the quarterfinal round, following round of 16 victories Sunday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
Pure Masters upset traditional giant Christianburg/Wismar 4-3 on penalty kicks, after regulation and extra time ended 1-1. Ravon Bailey equalised for Pure Masters in the 69th minute, after Omar Brewley handed the Linden unit the lead in the 41st minute.
On the other hand, Morgan Learning Centre crushed the Bishops’ High 7-0. Darien Dickson bagged a brace in lopsided contest in the eighth and 11th minute.
Supporting were Kobe Durant, Nixon Richardson, Kellon Blue, Ryan Dowding and Malcolm Miggins, who scored in the 16th, 43rd, 67th, 72nd and 89th minute respectively.
Similarly, Buxton Youth Developers dismissed Vergenoegen 6-1. Shamar Scott recorded a helmet trick in the fourth, 54th, 74th and 83rd minute, while Shamar Singh and Teshawn Gordon netted in the 41st and 87th minute each.
On target in the loss was Chris Smith in the 36th minute. The final two matches in the round of 16 section concludes today the same venue.
Lodge Secondary will faceoff with the Business School at 17:00hrs, while three time defending champion Chase Academy will tackle Ann’s Grove from 18:30hrs.
Upon the conclusion of the round of 16 section, the quarterfinals will kick-off on March 17th.
