The hearing before the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) of the application by Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) for a change in rates will continue on April 11th at Cara Lodge at 10 am.
A recent release from the PUC noted that the Commission met on the 12th and 21st of February, 2018 in the Woodbine Room at the Cara Lodge and GWI presented its application indicating the urgent need to have an increase in rates.
The Commission says it has given the public and other stakeholders, an opportunity to register their concerns and to submit orally and in writing their queries and objections to the application.
The Commission says it is pleased with the response received including the participation of the media.
The Commission had previously agreed to meet on March 14, 2018 for a continuation of this process, however on the request of GWI, the hearing will now continue on April 11, 2018 at Cara Lodge at 10:00 hrs.
