Kumar Samaroo, who fatally struck his son-in-law with a piece of wood on Sunday night at Airy Hall, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara, has been charged with the murder.
Samaroo appeared before Magistrate Wanda Fortune at the Mahaica Magis-trate’s Court, where he was read the charge for the murder of Muneshwar Bisnauth.
He not required to plead and was subsequently remanded to prison until April 4th.
Bisnauth, 23, who was a father of one, of Sideline Dam, Airy Hall Village, was struck following an argument between himself and Samaroo.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Mahaicony Cottage Hospital, where he had been taken by police.
Bisnauth was found unconscious around 7.30 pm on Sunday with a wound to his head at his in-law’s residence.
An autopsy performed on Bisnauth’s body on Wednesday by government pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh found that the man died as a result of brain haemorrhaging and blunt trauma to the head as a result of a blow.
