Dear Editor,
I have been perusing viewpoints in the printed media in Guyana supporting the belief that all citizens of a country should vote. This may very well be the beginning of future political attempts to order people to vote, as required by the law.
There are many who stand on their religious persuasion not to vote. They have reasons.
I hope that no Government of Guyana will pass laws forcing persons to vote with the consequence of being prosecuted if they do not comply.
I reserve the right to vote or not to vote.
Yours faithfully,
Krishna Nand Prasad
