The police are yet to arrest anyone in connection with the recent armed robbery committed on Ultra Waters, Camp Street, during which bandits posing as customers carted off an undisclosed amount of cash.
Divisional Commander Leslie James told Stabroek News that while no arrest has yet been made, investigations are still ongoing.
Crime Chief Paul Williams previously told reporters that surveillance footage, which was retrieved, was being reviewed by the Forensic Video Analysis Department.
Stabroek News had previously reported that around 5.26pm on Saturday, March 17th, bandits, posing as customers, invaded the business.
The water business operates on a 24-hour basis. When the incident unfolded, the business was in full operation and the two men approached, one with a bottle, posing as customers.
Proprietor of the business Clifton Douglas had related to this newspaper that the men stopped near the pump, which is located in front of the 194 A Camp Street building, and gained entry after they walked through one of the gates that was left open.
They then proceeded directly into the manager’s office.
Douglas had said that when the men entered the office, the manager was preparing to pay one of the staff members.
In the video footage seen by this newspaper, two assailants entered the office. One was clad in long dark pants, a black jersey and a toque, while the other wore short khaki pants, a white jersey and a red hat. Both carried what appeared to be firearms.
The first individual, wearing the toque, approached the manager, hit him to his head with the weapon and forced him to the floor, while removing his wallet and other items from his pocket. He was then seen ransacking the drawers and removing items. He then collected the bag of the employee who was being paid and placed the items he removed from the drawer into the bag.
