The Guyana Police Force’s second division cricket team defeated the Muslim Youth Organisation by 10 wickets in the New Building Society (NBS) second division limited overs competition at the Police Sports Club Ground, Eve Leary Sunday.
Chasing 102 for victory after MYO were dismissed for 101, the GPF opening batsmen Andrew Lyght Jr., and Reginald Rodriquez, took a mere eight overs to reach the target.
They reached 57 without loss after only four overs while Parasam Parmanand was struck for 26 runs in one over.
Lyght Jr., smacked five sixes and three fours in his unbeaten half century that came from just 20 balls while Rodriquez played the supporting role with 31 not out.
Earlier, in MYO’s innings, Trevor Benn missed out on a hat trick but nevertheless took three wickets while H. Persaud and J. Heyliger took two wickets each. Chein Gittens was once again the backbone of the innings as he top scored with 40 with two fours and two sixes.
