Transport Sports Club (TSC) defeated Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) by 36 Tuesday in the Guyana Diabetic Association (GDA)/ Georgetown Cricket Association Under -17 T20 tournament at the Malteenoes Sports Club ground.
Transport won the road and batted amassing 130-4 from their allotted overs with Andrew Samaroo missing out on a half century by one run after smacking nine fours.
Samaroo was aided by Rudranauth Kisson who contributed a spirited 36.
Mitchra Dhanraj was excellent with the ball, both containing and wicket taking, going for under seven runs an over and taking three wickets including those of Samaroo and Kisson.
In the chase, Samaroo and Kisson also led from the front with the ball, picking up 2-9 and 2-17 respectively as GCC were restricted to 94-8 when the overs ran out. Rahaul Singh made 19 while Dhanraj faced just five deliveries for an unbeaten 12.
Samaroo after the match, said that he was pleased with this performance as Transport has now recorded its third win despite not having enough preparation.
He said that his performances as well as the team should be credited to the management as they seek a place in the semifinals of the competition.
