Plaisance Secondary, Chase Academy and St. Rose’s High secured contrasting wins in the U19 division, when the Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) Regional Conference continued Saturday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue.
The East Coast Demerara unit defeated Government Technical Institute (GTI) 47-39. Nigel Bowen recorded a double-double of 19 points and 21 rebounds, while Andrew Johnson added 19 points.
Anton Fileen top scored for GTI with 14 points and nine rebounds while Montell Sardina added nine points and eight rebounds.
In another fixture, Chase Academy defeated School of the Nation’s 33-23. Shaquel Charles recorded eight points in the win, while Kashif Liverpool added seven points and 15 rebounds.
For the loser, Kareem Boyle registered 10 points and nine rebounds. Meanwhile, St. Rose’s High downed the Bishops’ High 31-26.
Roydon Glasgow netted a game-high 11 points in the win while Shamar Greaves added seven points.
For Bishop’s High, Kahil Farrington scored nine points and grabbed six rebounds while Joshua Spencer added seven points and 11 rebounds.
