Fifteen sea defence contracts totalling $515m were recently awarded by the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board for works in Regions Two, Three, Four, Five and Six.
Among the contracts was one for $88m to Samaroo Investment for the construction of sheet pile revetment and boat docking structures at Supenaam, Essequibo.
Others included one for $54.7m to BK International for the construction of rip-rap river defence at Canefield, Leguan and one for the construction of rip-rap river defence at Chapman’s Grove, East Coast Demerara to KB and B contractors.
