Daniel Williams (#314) was one of the local athletes who recorded personal milestones during the CARIFTA Games in the Bahamas. The 18-year old clocked 21.21s both in the heats and in the finals in the U-20 200m.
Brianna Williams of Jamaica, winner of the coveted Austin Sealey award, for the most outstanding athlete, rewrote the record books on two of those occasions in the U-17 100m (11.27s) and when she helped the U-17 team to win the 4x100m event (44.95s). The Florida based Williams had the most gold medals for any athlete, three, after winning the U-17 200m event.
Gold medalist Chantoba Bright, flanked by Lotavia Brown of Jamaica and Nasya Ramirez of Curacao on the podium after winning the U-20 long jump event. Bright completed the rare feat of winning a set of medals at one meet, when she took silver in the 4 x 400m U-20 relay and grabbed a bronze in the U-20 Triple jump.
