Three persons, including a 65-year-old East Coast Demerara resident, are now in police custody after they allegedly made calls to the 911 emergency system and threatened the life of President David Granger.
Public Relations Officer (ag) of the Guyana Police Force Shivpersaud Bacchus, in a press statement last evening, said the calls were received on the 911 system at the Brickdam Police Station on March 20th. This is not the first instance where threats were allegedly made to the life of President Granger.
In December last year, Alim Ally, a remanded inmate of the Lusignan Prison, was charged with making a call from the prison to the Brickdam Police Station in which he threatened to shoot and kill the President. He had denied the allegation.
