Cougars FC upset Buxton United 2-1 while Victoria Kings edged Ann’s Grove by the identical score when the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Elite League continued on Friday.
Staged at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground, Bourda, Cougars secured the unlikely victory led by a double from Mark Wronge in the 29th and 77th minute.
On target for the Buxtonians in the 30th minute was Timothy Albert.
In the other fixture, Alden Lawrence and Aubrey Gibson scored in the 53rd and 72nd minute for Victoria Kings while Dwight Peters netted in the 45th+1 minute for Ann’s Grove. The tournament continues today at the Den Amstel ground with a doubleheader.
At 14:00hrs, Fruta Conquerors will oppose Buxton United, while league leaders Western Tigers match skills with home side Den Amstel FC from 16:00hrs.
