The State Assets Recovery Agency (SARA) has organised a walk against corruption on Friday, April 20.
In a notice, SARA said it will be hosting a short ceremony and a `Symbolic walk against corruption’ on Friday, April 20, 2018 from 2 pm to 4.30 pm along the Camp Street Avenue.
It said that the aim of the initiative is to raise awareness of corruption. Among those invited to speak are Director of SARA, Professor Clive Thomas; British High Commissioner Greg Quinn; Anti-corruption Advisor, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, David Robinson; The Queen’s Young Leaders and key members of the religious community. After the short ceremony, all invitees will participate in a symbolic walk against corruption.
SARA was created through the State Assets Recovery Act of 2017, and passed in Parliament on April 13, 2017. The notice said that SARA has embarked on launching this campaign `Corruption is Everybody’s Business’ in collaboration with various Government Agencies in the fight against corrupt practices within our Nation.
