The Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) has rolled out a calendar of activities which includes tournaments, training sessions and a summer camp.
According to a release from the union, the finals of the B Division Rugby Tournament between the Guyana Police Falcons and Panthers Rugby club will be played on Sunday at the National Park Athletics Field at 16:00hrs to start the local season.
Following that there will be the second round of the Bounty Farm (XV), the 2018 Pepsi Hornets Anniversary 7’s, Female 7’s,2018 GIR School Festivals, the 2018 U19 League and the 2018 Scotia Bank Summer Camp to name a few.
Also the season will include high performance training for both men and women for international in engagements.
This year Guyana will take part in the CACSO games-Men’s 7’s, RAC Challenge Series, Men’s (XV) and 2018 RAN Sevens in that order.
Fifteen’s training will be done on Wednesdays- 5:00 pm and Sundays- 7:00 am and 7’s Training Tuesdays – 5:00 pm Thursdays- 5:00pm.
Strength and conditioning sessions will also be conducted at the Michael Parris Gym National Park at the involving Barrington Brown and Theodore Henry, Monday to Friday from 5:45am to 7:00am and 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
