Dear Editor,
I recall, in the ‘70s, Dr Cheddi Jagan calling on contributors to the Mirror newspaper to avoid what he termed “mud-slinging”. The term with respect to meaning speaks for itself.
I was then a regular contributor to the Mirror pages under the initials KNP with poems (so called) and letters. Dr Jagan’s advice , in my opinion, was sound and I adopted it as a guideline for decent writing.
I wish our politicians, of the opposition and government , could stop “clawing at each other’s throats” and get on with the business of running the country decently and fruitfully.
Yours faithfully,
Krishna Nand Prasad
