Chanderpaul half-century ends rut

CJIA expansion on track

Even as he sought to assure taxpayers yesterday that they are getting value for money on the US$150 million Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) expansion project, Minister of Public Infrastructure David Patterson said an additional $346.5 million in supplementary funding is being sought for to see the project to completion.

Guyana gains in press freedom ranking

Although Guyana has moved up from 60 to 55 in the latest Reporters Without Borders World Press Freedom Index (RSF), signaling that press freedom in the country has improved, the Guyana Press Association (GPA) says there are still “significant hurdles to be crossed before Guyanese can feel that an improved ranking really matters.”
