Plaisance Secondary and Bishops’ High School won their U19 matches while St. Joseph’s High, Presidents’ College and Marian Academy clinched U16 victories when the Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) Regional Conference continued yesterday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue.
Plaisance crushed Business School 69-19 with Shamar Hercules top scoring with 17 points while Jared Sears added 16 points and six rebounds and Andrew Johnson 15 points and seven rebounds.
Nigel Bowen chipped in with 13 points, 11 rebounds and seven steals.
For the Business School, Christopher Ramcharran tallied eight points and six rebounds.
The Bishops’ High downed Government Technical Institute 37-33 with Tarikh Robinson netting 11 points and grabbing five rebounds while Andre Somrah contributed 10 points and seven rebounds.
Anton Fileen top scored for GTI with 18 points and five rebounds. Meanwhile, St. Joseph’s dismissed Plaisance 42-27.
Shaquawn Gill shot his way to 30 points while Shaqueem Wilson chipped in with 10 points. For Plaisance, Jamain Thompson and Ishmael Chapman scored 17 and 11 points respectively.
Presidents College crushed Queen’s College 42-21. Richard Semple recorded a double-double of 14 points and 16 rebounds while Lamon Friday assisted with eight points, 10 rebounds and six steals.
For Queen’s College, Lugard Mohan Jr., scored 14 points and fashioned seven steals.
In another fixture, Marian Academy edged St. Rose’s High 27-24.
Jether Harris tallied a double-double of 18 points and 17 rebounds while Tyrese James added eight points and seven rebounds.
For St Rose’s, Hasani Hazlewood and Jorddan Storme scored 10 and six points respectively.
