Pedestrians travelling on the northern and southern pavements of Regent Street yesterday were lucky to have not been struck down by a car and a bus that came to an abrupt stop on the walkway after colliding.According to eyewitnesses, the blue Toyota Allion, PPP 8504, was travelling south along Wellington Street and attempted to cross Regent Street when a bus, BTT 9337, which was travelling East to West along Regent Street, slammed the left of the car, changing its direction. After being hit, the car spun out of control. The back of the car was then hit, which resulted in it stopping on the northern pavement on Regent Street. To prevent the bus from colliding with anyone on the road or pavement, the driver was able to steer it off the road and it come to a halt on the southern pavement of Regent Street.Despite the streets being busy with pedestrians, no one was hit by the two vehicles and neither the driver nor the passengers suffered any serious injuries.
