The final of the Guyana Cricket Board/Hand-In-Hand Mutual Fire and Life Insurance (HIH) Inter-County Under-19 limited overs tournament is now set for the National Stadium, Providence on Friday.
The final, like the tournament, has been plagued by rain which has resulted in it (the final) being postponed twice.
The final was originally scheduled for the Georgetown Cricket club (GCC) before moving to the Lusignan Community Center the previous weekend but due to the weather, it will now take place Friday.
The venue has been the host of the previous Under-19 final and with its impressive record of being one of the fastest draining grounds in the region, it should stand well with the weather conditions.
The final will see three-day champions, Berbice battle the Select U-17s to see who will be crowned the new champion of the tournament.
Berbice have played undefeated while the Select U-17s played two games, losing to Berbice and winning against Essequibo while Essequibo and Demerara were winless from two matches and one match respectively.
Berbice will be led by Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club male Cricketer-of-the-Year and Guyana national youth player, Kevin Sinclair while the Select U-17s will be led by West Indies youth captain, Sachin Singh.
The match is expected to begin at 09:30h with the presentation following soon after.
Admission is free and the general public is invited.
