The local sports fraternity is in mourning following the passing of Patrick ‘Pat’ Holder, one of Guyana’s most renowned sport figures.
Holder, one of the pioneers of the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC), and the club’s official starter for many decades died on Wednesday following health complications.
The former cyclist, motor bike and powerboat racer was 84. Holder and his company were also the benefactor of numerous sports disciplines.
The funeral of Holder, a former President of the GMR&SC will be held on Monday, May 7, at 15:00 hrs at the James the Less Anglican Church, David Street, Kitty. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
