The Bargain Supermarket T20 got off to a flying start with national player Sherfane Rutherford smashing a fine century to see Golden Achievers pull off a 133-run win over Bee Hive at Ogle on Sunday.
Batting first Golden Achievers posted 256-4 from their 20 overs with Rutherford hammering 11 sixes and seven fours in his 116.
Bee Hive, in reply, were restricted to 123-8 when the overs ran out. Harrynarine Samlall and Arvind Rajmangal scored 36 and 25 runs respectively while Quacy Cummings bagged 4-30.
At Lusignan Community Center Ground, the hosts won the toss and batted, posting 123-7 with Keon Franklin unbeaten on 46. Fairfield were limited to 103-8 at the end of their allotted overs with Travon Charles unbeaten on 26.
Paradise defeated La Bonnie Intention (LBI) by 40 runs, posting 156-5 thanks to C. Fraser’s unbeaten 65 and F. Jones’ 40 and then dismissing LBI for 117 with one over remaining. H. Blackman picked up 4-12 and J. Persaud, 3-19.
Also, Stratavon defeated Mahaica by six wickets. Mahaica won the toss and took first strike posting 44 in 13.2 overs as Guyana Under-15 spinner Chandrapaul Ramraj claimed 4-8 and M. Motie 4-7. Stratavon, in reply, raced to the target in 9.3 overs with Tagenarine Chanderpaul top scoring with 18.
At Enmore Community Center, Better Hope B emerged victorious by four wickets over Enterprise B. Enterprise B could only manage 85-8 in their full quota with 25 runs each from Hansraj Sookdeo and Ravindra Beepat. Better Hope required 16.2 overs to reach 86 losing six wickets on the way as Dave Persaud picked up 4-12 while Annand Persaud top scoring with 28.
At Enmore, Buxton fought well but still lost by two wickets to Enmore. Buxton took first strike and were bundled out for 62 after recovering from 3-1 as Rudolph Singh and Chris Surat troubled them to return figures of 5-12 and 3-9 respectively. Meanwhile Enmore finished with a six to close on 67-8 after being 6-25
At Enterprise, Anthony XI won the toss and batted posting 110 all out, Charway McPherson top scored with 58 while Rohan Mangal picked up 3-16.
Enterprise A reached 111-7 with West Indies batsman Rajendra Chandrika unbeaten on 62.
